About PI - International Advisory Board

Every year we hold a General Meeting of all of the members of Privacy International. Our 'members' are all on our advisory board. They are appointed upon being vetted by the Trustees and the AGM after a nomination process.

Privacy International's Advisory Board currently has 90 members from 40 countries. Their professions vary widely, and range from Parliamentarians to former government officials, from academics to civil liberties advocates, consumer rights specialists to corporate and legal consultants. Specifically because our Advisory Board consists of such a broad spectrum of interests and expertise, PI is able to successfully engage in a number of issues in a variety of countries.

Our members play a number of roles for our organisation:
1. We maintain an active discussion with our advisory board about our activities and projects and seek their comments;
2. Every year we meet to discuss upcoming issues and decide on areas of common interest for PI's activities for the coming year;
3. Some members play active roles in our campaigns and research, contributing to the substance of our work.
