PI's work is funded by a variety of different sources. Charitable trusts and foundations in Europe and North America contribute the majority of our funding, and we also receive grants from statutory bodies to support our work with local partners. We do not accept funding from corporations because we believe that it would jeopardise the independence of our activities.
We are extremely grateful to the following organisations for their support:
- The Adessium Foundation
- Open Society Foundations
- International Development Research Centre
- Oak Foundation
- Swedish International Development Agency
- Street Foundation
- Esmée Fairbairn Foundation
- Renewable Freedom Foundation
The PI team is fighting some big battles - challenging the surveillance technology export industry, exposing the secret Five Eyes surveillance regime, and working with partners across the globe to investigate and respond to the use of surveillance technologies in their countries.
We're working hard to diversify our funding to ensure that PI's work is independent, cutting-edge and can be sustained for years to come. Individual donations are therefore hugely important to us.
If you think PI is doing fantastic work and would like to lend your support, please make a donation today. All contributions no matter what the size make a huge difference!
