Face recognition used to monitor faculty
The Tagoloan Community College (TCC) in the Philippines has developed a facial recognition system to automate faculty attendance, logging staff as they enter and exit classrooms by matching real-time facial captures against stored embeddings and cross-checking them against teaching schedules.
It also handles leave management and generates administrative reports.
Developers suggest that this is a more reliable alternative to manual attendance tracking, although accuracy dropped with distance, angle and poor lighting and with older and less tech-experienced staff were not able to use it as well as others.
