Hoang Mai Star School rolls out facial recognition

Hoang Mai Star School in Hanoi rolled out facial recognition access control across its whole campus in 2024.

It worked with vendor Aratek Biometrics to replace manual ID checks with BA8300 terminals at four main gates, covering over 5,000 students, faculty and staff. 

The system uses liveness detection and tamper protection to verify identity, and is built to also support fingerprint, RFID and barcode authentication alongside facial recognition.

It was adopted primarily to solve queuing and congestion at peak entry times and to replace the security risks of card-based access.
